Disney Cruise Line Will Christen Their New Disney Fantasy in New York On March 1st

Disney Cruise Line's New Disney Magic


 

Disney Cruise Line has announced that their newest cruise ship, the Disney Fantasy, is scheduled to be christened on the evening of March 1st at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal’s Pier 88.

The line said it plans an evening of ‘star-studded entertainment.’

The Disney Fantasy in currently under construction at Germany's Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany and is expected to be delivered on February 9th, 2012.

The Disney Cruise Line's Disney Fantasy is scheduled to arrive in New York on February. 28th after a transatlantic crossing from Europe.

The identity of the Godmother fro the ship had nor yet been revealed.

After the ships inaugural events, Disney Fantasy will be based year-round in Port Canaveral for alternating 7-day eastern and western Caribbean sailings starting March 31st.

The naming of the Disney Fantasy is a prelude to the arrival of her smaller sister ship the Disney Magic, which will start a new series of cruises from New York to New England/Canada or Flordia and the Bahamas or cruises to nowhere.
